I just took part in the 2014 Expat Explorer survey that is put on by HSBC. This survey is the largest global expat survey of its kind. In 2013 over 7,000 expats answered questions relating to their finances, quality of life and even what it’s like to raise children abroad. The questions covered a wide variety of topics and seemed to be a survey that could provide a pretty fair assessment of living overseas. After completing the survey, I had to check out the 2013 results. It was really interesting to note that the country that rated the highest among expats with children was China and, for those without children, Thailand. China only dropped to the number 2 spot when children were taken out of the picture. Maybe we are not so crazy after all!
Go to Expat Explorer Survey 2013 to check out the complete results. It is also interesting to browse the comments, expat tips and tricks and interactive findings.
